Society of Power Engineers

Society of Power Engineers (INDIA) was formed in 1947 by Central Board of Irrigation and Power (CBIP, INDIA), Government of India. It is an apex body engaged in the activities of technological upliftment of the power engineers by making available latest developments all around the world. Journal Publications, Workshops/Seminars, group discussions are regular features of the society. The Headquarter of the SPE is at New Delhi and in order to ensure power development across the country SPE has constituted its chapters at various places and SPE Vallabh Vidyanagar chapter is one of them. Major objective of SPE is to promote the advancement of Power Engineering and its applications. It provides a common platform to the members from industries, academics and students to share their views and by this way getting updated with latest trends in Power Engineering and most importantly sharpening their fundamentals strongly.

Major activities of the society include:
• Conduction of seminars, workshops and short term courses
• Provide platform to the manufacturers for technical presentation of their products
• Special guidance to the students regarding fundamentals as well as latest trends.
• Arrange study tours
• Enhancement of technical abilities of students by organizing tech-fests and similar activities.

SPE Vallabh Vidyanagar chapter was started in March 2010. Under SPE, V V Nagar chapter at GCET, we have organized numerous expert talks, Industrial visits, workshops, seminars and technical symposiums. This chapter was started with limited members and now the family is having large number of active members who always try to exchange the trends in power engineering on the same platform.
