Women Development Committee has organized SAKSHAM’18

        SAKSHAM’18 was organized by Women Development Committee, G H Patel College of Engineering and Technology, GCET on 8th March, 2018 on the occasion of international women’s day. The president of function was Dr. S.G Patel, Honorable Secretary, Charutar Vidya Mandal and the Chief Guest was Mrs. Sumedha Satyarthi, who is from the Bachpan Bachao Aandolan, a Nobel laureate foundation. In this function WDC GCET honoured Dr. Nayna Patel, Mrs. Asha Dalal and Dr. Amita Patel were honoured for their valuable contribution to the society. After soothing and calming prayer to almighty, the inaugural function started on a very positive note with inputs from the WDC coordinator, Prof. Ela Jha explaining details right from the inception at thought level to implementation on the day of execution. Then the lamp lighting was done by the dignitaries. Principal, Dr. Himanshu Soni, joined with inputs pertaining to our trust, Charutar Vidya Mandal and their immense support extended to our institution, covering different facets of progress. Dr. Nayna Patel, Gynecologist and Fertility Expert, addressed about the ugly face of society that deals with Gender determination of unborn child, female feticide and general intolerance towards girl child. Dr. Asha Dalal, from Jagrut Mahila Sangathan enlightened the crowd with legal ways of dealing against foul methods practiced in the society for women empowerment. Dr. Amita Patel showed the importance of hard work and perseverance to the vibrant audience. Girl student achievers in various academic and non-cademic activities were honored by Women Development Committee. Our Chief Guest, Mrs. Sumedha Satyarthi, who is from the Bachpan Bachao Aandolan, a Nobel laureate foundation, took over the stage with her lively slogans and magnificent persona. Presidential remarks were delivered by Dr. S.G Patel, Honorable Secretary, Charutar Vidya Mandal. The chief guest was felicitated with the memento as a token of gratitude. The vote of thanks was made by Dr. Foram Joshi, also faculty co-coordinator for the event. With recitation of the National Anthem, the inaugural function ended on a more positive note than what it had started with. With the zeal and enthusiasm of all the student coordinators and participants, the day moved on with the Keynote speech of Mrs. Sumedha Satyarthi. Mrs. Sumedha Satyarthi motivated the gathering to take the oath that they will never bear any kind of abuse by the society and will fight against that. Throughout the day many events were organized for the students like rangoli, debate, elocution and quiz. Around 200 students and faculties from various departments and nearby institutes participated in the program Dr. Nayna Patel, Mrs. Asha Dalal and Dr. Amita Patel were honoured for their valuable contribution to the society.mme. Overall it was an informative as well as motivational session for all the empowered ladies over there.
