The Department of Chemical Engineering, G H Patel College of Engineering & Technology Vallabh Vidyangar organized National Science Day Celebration-2018 on Science & Technology: Evolution and Present Scenario: The Need for Sustainability during 28 February 2018. The one day programme was inaugurated by Shri. Babubhai Patel Chairman, Nandesari Industries Association & CETP ,Nandesari, Dr. Hemant Vyas, Director & CEO, Lonsen Kiri Industries Pvt Limited, Baroda, Er. Ashok Patel, Donor of Charutar Vidya Mandal and Alumni Birla Vishwakarma Vidyalaya.The National Science day was aimed to create awareness of science & technology for sustainable development. It covered a rich variety of subjects, technologies and practices, thereby giving a comprehensive overview on the subject. The event featured a mix of eminent speakers from ETP plant, Industries and abroad case studies of changed and changing paradigms that will provide the fuel for attendees looking for possibilities. Mr. Babubhai Patel emphasized on the treatment of waste generated in chemical allied Industries for sustainable development in his presidential remarks. He congratulated the participants and the organizers.

Dr. Hemant Vyas has talked on event theme and congratulated the participants and organizer for gracing the event. Dr. Himanshu Soni Principal GCET, Dr. Kaushik Nath, Head of Chemical Engineering and the Organizing Coordinators Mr.Vinay B Patel and also IIChe Chapter GCET Students’ Coordinator Mr. Vivek Tomar were also present. There were more than 135 student participants form department of chemical engineering and other branches of GCET.Other tecnical events like Skit, Explore the Science Behind, Charades of Science and Bid at Your Own Knowledge was sucessfully organized. The event was highly recognized all over College and beyond and the organizing team received very good feedback from the participants.
