Industria Visit to AMUL Dairy

        Amul dairy was registered on 14th December 1946 in a meeting held of Samarkha village on January 4th 1946. It w as resolved that milk co-operative society would be organized in each village of Kaira District to collect milk from the producers & federate into a district union. With financial help from UNICEE assistance factory to manufacture milk powder & Butter plant. The foundation was laid by Dr Rajendera Prasad then president of India on Number 15th 1954 & on Octobers 31st 1955. Pundit Jawarlal Nehru the there prime minister declared it open. The plant was expanded to manufactures sweetened condended milk in 1950. Amul is an experiment successful run since last 60-61 year with the objective of up liftmen of rural economy. Amul is a co-operative unit established on 14th December 1946 at Anand. We arrived at AMUL at 1:30 PM. After that we gathered at the front gate and visited various sections of AMUL. At first we went to the Dairy Museum, describing their establishment ,hurdles that they faced and photos describing the leaders behind the one of the largest dairy industry Anand Milk Union Limited. Then the students went to seminar hall to view AV about history of AMUL. After that the students visited 3 different sections of AMUL Dairy Plant: 1) Butter plant, where the students were informed of butter production in AMUL. 2) Milk powder plant, where the students visited manufacturing as well as packing and dispatching functions of AMUL 3) Milk process unit, where the students were informed of pasteurized milk production process After completion of visit we came back to GCET at 3:30 PM It was a Wonderful experience for all students as well for staff. Every student was very co-operative to each-other as well to the faculties. Students were acquainted of Dairy product manufacturing process in AMUL Dairy. We (all students and staff member/s) are very much thankful to Dr. Himanshu Soni, Principal of G H Patel College of Engineering & Technology and Dr. Maulika Patel, Head of Computer Engineering Department for giving their valuable support. We are also very much thankful to Mr. S. Sundaran, OSD Human Relations of AMUL & other staff for their co-operation during the visit.
