Industrial Visit Indo German Tool Room

The batch of VI semester students of Mechatronics branch visited two industries in field of Manufacturing and production of various Automated machines. They were accompanied by Prof. Umang Jani and Prof. Sanjeev Rajput. 1. Indo German Tool Room (IGTR), Ahmedabad: Firstly, they were introduced with the company and its major field of work. They came to know that the government of India in its endeavour to provide right stimulus for the growth of industry in the country – particularly with an objective of helping MSME’s has established Indo German Tool Room, Ahmedabad. Furthermore, they were informed that a project of Government on India, Government of Federal Republic of Germany & Government of Gujarat, Indo German Tool Room (IGTR) an ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001:2004 is a centre which nurtures excellence and provides total tooling & training solutions. IGTR is concentrating on an integrated development of the related segments of the industry by way of providing International Quality Tools, Trained Personnel., Consultancy In Tooling & Related Areas & is constantly crossing new frontiers in quest for excellence & beyond. IGTR Ahmedabad is divided into two sectors: Training and Production. The training sector included various CNC Machine training classrooms, VMC milling machines Manual machine workshops, Welding and Wire-cut Lab. The students were highly inspired by the Mechatronics laboratory which included many PLC Panels and machines. The most interesting part of the trip was learning the operations of huge Kuka Robotic Arms and witnessing a robotic seminar, learning the basics of robots and its operations. They also learned about the history of robotics and the aspired future in the field of automation. 2. Nihar Industries, Ahmedabad: Nihar Industries is synonymous with wood crafting machineries. They excel in manufacturing machineries required in wood cutting, polishing, pressing, fabrication and engraving. Every machine or equipment needed in a wood factory is available with them.
