The session was organized to give a practical idea about the work horse of power plant that is
induction motor. Starting from the energy usage of induction motor in a power plant ,its
various losses with its proportion in total losses, testing procedures, energy efficient motors ,its
features, power flow in motors, Starter module to even protect schemes of motors, almost all
aspects of motor in a power plant in detail is explained by the speaker. The session was quite
interesting as well as informative to students as they could grasp a proper concept about the
performance of induction motor in a power plant.
