Short Term Training Programme On Advanced Image And Video Processing

        Digital image and video processing continues to enable the multimedia technology revolution. The objective of this workshop is to provide an insight of applications affiliated to Digital Image Proces sing.Exploration and Visualization of Image and Video processing using a subsection of MATLAB extends the basic capabilities of it by providing number of spe cialized I/O and processing functions for image processing. The workshop will cover both mathematical fundamentals and its application implementations, with a focus on theoretical concep ts and to problems in different areas. Hands on exercises with MATLAB software will open a door for programming in image processing. Exposure to recent concepts of Image Processing will also be possible during the workshop. The workshop is aimi ngvariational methods in image analysis and will consider a range of problems, including de noising, segmentation, registration, and population analysis within variational formulations for the PG student s as well as faculties. WHOM THIS STTP WAS FOR : For Post Graduate students in the Engineering disciplines of EC/CP/IT would get a clear idea about the recent and advanced techniques in this domain along with the various basic fundamental techniques involved in image and video processing. For faculties in various engineering domains of EC/IT/CP would get a broader scope of understanding the finest details of various aspects of image and video processing along with the advanced and recent techniques and aspects in the area of research. AIMS: What then are the specific aims of this STTP? Two of the principal aims were To introduce the attendee to some of the key concepts and techniques of modern image Processing and Video Processing. To provide a framework within which these concepts and techniques can be understood by a series of examples, exercises and computer experime nts. These are, perhaps, aims which one might reasonably expect from any STTP on a technical subject. However, we have one further aim namely to provide the attendee with the fastest, most direct route to 3 acquiring a real hands-on understanding of image processing. We hope this STTP will give you a real fast-start in the field.
