Web-O-ctober, an October long event was organized to encourage open-source contributions among GCETians. An introductory session for the same was organized on 3 rd October, 2019. In the introductory session, Mr. Dishant Parikh, 4 th year Computer Engineering student of GCET explained the meaning and importance of open-sourcing, introduced Git and GitHub and conducted a hands-on workshop in which all the participants learnt to contribute to open-source projects on Github. After this introductory session, all the participants were encouraged to make open-source contributions for building a website for CodeChef local chapter of GCET.
