This workshop is aimed to understand the use of electromagnetic waves in Satellite communication and Navigations. Total 68 participants from various institutes in Gujarat participated in the workshop. First session was conducted by Prof. Kush Parikhwho covered basics of electromagnetics giving a general idea where it can be used. Second session was conducted by Shri A K Sisodiawho covered the utilization of EM waves in microwave & satellite communication. He discussed on Satellite navigation payload (GAGAN) and Indian Regional Navigational Satellite System (IRNSS). He also covered the reception of IRS data at ground station. After lunch break third session was conducted by Dr. V. K. Singh who covered the basics of antenna terminology, types of antenna and its application. He had also covered the latest trends of reflector antenna, cross polarization in satellite
