Imparting technical knowledge with value added development for the youth of Charotar region, the chairman Charutar Vidya Mandal- Dr. C. L. Patel has taken initiatives to start first of its kind self finance institute in Gujarat. This vision has taken shape of G H Patel college of Engineering & Technology, popularly known as GCET.

GCET is running seven undergraduate programs and two post graduate programs. We are the pioneer in India to star first undergraduate program in Information & Technology (IT) and Mechatronics Engineering (MC). The primary focus of our institute is to provide teaching and learning at par with higher seats of learning institutes like IITs. Our endeavor is to create an institute that will provide a space for free and uninhibited thinking, a space where faculty and students can experiment with novel ideas.

We have highly learned pool of more than 120 faculty members in GCET. Out of this 38 are PhD/Pursuing PhD from various institutes like IITs and NITS, 88 faculty members are master degree holder. Our faculty members have extensive technology education and management experience. With global competition and rapidly changing technology, lifelong learning is a necessity. Successful technical professionals need to continually update their skills and knowledge. For fulfilling this requirement our management has sponsored many faculty members for pursuing M.Tech and Ph.D from various IITs.

GCET students have also created many milestones in their academic carrier. Under Sardar Patel University we have total 57 gold medallist students from various under graduate disciplines in last 9 years. Our students are performing equally well under Gujarat Technological University (GTU) as a result of this GCET always stood in top 10 institutes of GUJARAT.

Our management believes that apart from imparting education, we should look towards overall development of the students so that they are capable of taking the global challenges in whatever field they opt for. As a part of this, we carry out various students’ activities like- Cultural Programmes, Sports Activity, Project Club, Organizing Technical Events etc. GCET gives equal importance to these activities also and as a result we have secured first rank in various activities at different levels of representations.

But we are not content with what we have achieved, neither we wanted to sit on our past laurels, but we want to attain even greater heights in the field of Technical Education. This is possible only by constructive support from my dear student friends, faculty members and other staff members.

We, the team GCET very much look forward to welcoming our students. We will do our best to provide them with a strong technical education and a rich and memorable college experience.
