1- Presentation-1-2-3 by students of 1st level for their subject 'Communication Skills'
During AY 2008-09 / SEM-2
1 This sem we did an experiment of using drama as a tool for teaching communication skills and it really worked tremendously.
2-We also recorded few video clips of GCET students and uploaded on GLC blog:
www.gcet-languageclub.blogspot.com
3-We added few new video clips from youtube on GLC blog which can be helpful to the students to enhance their language skills.
4-We received few articles and poems from the authors from the various parts of India like Tamilnadu, Andhrapradesh etc. for 'e-patra'. We also received e-mails appreciting 'e-patra' and other activities of GLC not only from India but also from abroad.
On Sept.12, 2008 GCET LANGUAGE CLUB organized a seminar on 'Technical & Non Technical Communication' at GCET Auditorium for 1st level CH-ME-CP-EE students. Thre were 225 registrations for this seminar.

A very special event for final year IT/CP students and faculties:
GCET Language Club invites a CANADA based company ‘SKY WORK STUDIOS’, which has done visual effects for Hollywood movies. So we are going to arrange 1 session for students and 1 for staff about how they work for Visual Effects.
1. A GUEST TALK:
A guest talk for faculties was held on the topic “EFFICCACY IN TEACHING” by Mrs. Varsha Thakar, a faculty in Way Made Education College on 14th September, 2007.
2. LANTERN:
A language workshop called “LANTERN” for 2nd year EE students was held on 18th September and 3rd October, 2007 by Mr. Nikhil Joshi.
3. SAPIENCE:
Mr. Nikhil Joshi held a special lecture on ‘Emotional Intelligence’ on 28th September 2007 for 3rd year CP students.
4. A GUEST LECTURE:
A guest lecture was held on ‘IMPORTANCE OF COMMUNICATION SKILLS IN ENGINEERING’ by Ms. Falguni Bhartiya, a faculty in English Department in Nalini Arts College, on 29th September 2007.
5. MANTHAN:
A guest lecture for 07IT students of GCET was held on 3rd October, 2007 by Mr. Suresh Parikh, Honorary Director of MANAV VIKAS KENDRA.
6. HARISOPHONE DEMONSTRATION:
A demonstration of HARISOPHONE, a musical instrument was carried out by its inventor Dr. Harish Gershom on 9th October, 2007 for 07IT students of GCET.
7. ALLIANCE COMPETITION:
GCET LANGUAGE CLUB held Alliance Competition on 17th October 2007 as an inauguration function of GCET LANGUAGE CLUB, which was open for all the branches of all the three colleges, GCET, BVM & ADIT for the students of all the four years.
8. SCREENING OF A MOVIE:
GCET LANGUAGE CLUB organized a Movie Session on 25th October, 2007 Thursday. It has been arranged only for the Language Club Members of all the three colleges.
9. A TOUR TO SCIENCE CITY:
GCET LANGUAGE CLUB organized an educational tour to SCIENCE CITY, Ahmedabad for 07IT batch students of GCET on 26th October, 2007 Friday.
10. VIDEO SESSION OF 'THE SECRET':
GCET LANGUAGE CLUB arranged a Video Session of “THE SECRET OF INNER STRENGHTS” by MR. VINAY PANDYA on 30th October, 2007 Tuesday for all Language Club members of all the three colleges.
11. HARISOPHONE DEMONSTRATION FOR FACULTIES:
A Harisophone Demonstration by Dr. Harish Gershom was conducted specially for GCET faculties on 19th October, 2007.
12. LAUNCHING CEREMONY OF ‘e-patra’:
GCET LANGUAGE CLUB has launched e-PATRA, an online magazine. A launching ceremony of e-PATRA was held on 30th October 2007 /Tuesday on official website of GCET and GCET intranet as well.
