GCET organizes number of curricular and co -curricular activities along with its regular teaching-learning process.It is our duty to catalyst the curiosity rate in students and GCET planned exactly that to foster the young minds with practical applications of engineering using our labs and instruments. This year as a part of I-maze '16 social committee of GCET organized OPEN HOUSE for bringing awareness among the students of Higher Secondary Schools in the matter of channelizing their interest in various fields of engineering, its applications, and future opening on February 22nd and 23rd 2016. Around 300 students of XI standard (science stream) from nearby schools were assisted in observing the laboratories and infrastructure of college so as to get an idea about their way of approach in the near future.A visit of mainly four departments (EC, EE, ME and MC) were carried out where student volunteers demonstrated four to five experiments related to their schools curriculum The main aim was to provide a foresight of engineering to the students of Higher Secondary grades, which will help them taking a better decision for themselves. A career counselling session was arranged at the end for all the students by theexperienced faculties of GCET who explained the details about Engineering Courses, Admission Procedure, Engineering Domains available at GCET and much more followed by small refreshment in front of auditorium Experiments were shortlisted after concerning the respective faculty members of the various branches in such a way so that students can visualize the concepts which they are studying presently.
