Orientation programme for the newly admitted 1st year students of the different branches for the academic year 2014-15 was held on 28th July at 11.00 a.m in the Kamlaben-Shankarbhai Patel GCET auditorium. The objective of the orientation programe was to familiarize the newly admitted students of GCET about the campus, facilities, teaching-learning process and several other aspects of the college. At the beginning of the programme the students were felicitated and cordially welcome with flowers, sweets and "traditional tilak" by the senior students along with the Principal and all the heads of the departments. After a brief prayer and the welcome invocation by the student anchors, Principal and all the Heads, sitting on the dais, were formally introduced. It was followed by the address of the Principal Dr. Himanshu Soni about different activities of the college. He also presented a slide-show highlighting various activities and past events. A few students from final year class shared their feelings and experiences of GCET with the audience. Thereafter, there was a question-answer session, where many parents asked some questions. They also complimented the very purpose of the orientation programme. In the afternoon students of various disciplines attended the departmental orientation programmes organized by the various departments.
