Civil Engineering Department of G H Patel College of Engineering and Technology (GCET), a Charutar Vidya Mandal institute, Vallabh Vidyanager, organized a field visit to Valasan on 14th february, 2015. The main aim of the visit was to observe the rural infrastructure and basic requirements of a village. Head of the department, faculty members and students visited the village and had a discussion with the village authorities. The general information of the village was collected by the students with the help of a structured questionnaire. The data was collected regarding numbers of family members, source of income, number of literate person in the family, about the basic requirements such as food, electricity, fresh water, proper sanitation facilities and many more. GRAMPANCHAYAT office was visited and the map of the village, area and population details was collected. House condition, road condition and key plan of map of the village was observed properly. Students and the faculty members of Civil Engineering Department of G H Patel College of Engineering and Technology (GCET),Vallabh Vidyanagar visited the village with an aim to identify the ways to improve / strengthen the infrastructural facilities.
