Workshop on “CAD Software for Chemical Engineers”

A three-day workshop on “CAD Software for Chemical Engineers” was organized by the Department of Chemical Engineering, GCET AICTE IDEA Lab. The workshop was primarily organized to make students familiar with CAD Software. On an inaugural day, the session was led by Prof. Mihir Solanki, Assistant Professor, GCET. He holds a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and has a strong hold on CAD software. He started his session with the very basic idea of CAD software and its application. He taught various concepts in CAD software like how to draw lines, arcs, and circles by different methods. Moreover, sir also taught them how to represent the dimensions of any shape. On Day two, the session was divided into two phases. The first phase was conducted by Prof. Jvalant Trivedi, Assistant Professor, GCET. He introduced students to various features of the CAD Software like the modified bar, mirror tool, etc. The second phase was led by Prof. Purnank Bhatt, Assistant Professor, GCET. He taught students about 3-D Modeling in the software. The session was quite informative and the students learned many new concepts related to software. On the final day, the session was directed by Prof. Akarsh Jain, Assistant Professor, GCET. He directed the students regarding 2-D Modeling and its application. Later a practice session was organized for the students to practice the concepts that they have learned. An interactive session was organized to clear the doubts of the students. The event was concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Endrick Contractor, Faculty Coordinator, GCET AICTE IDEA Lab, Chemical Department.
