IEEE Robotics & Automation Society GCET Student Branch Chapter organized the second
session of the webinar series, ART TALK #2 which focused on the topic “New Approaches for
Managing Logistic and Manufacturing Systems.”
The talk was globally open for all. In total 330 people registered for this webinar and there were
80+ attendees.
The keynote speaker of this event was Maria Pia Fanti who was a visiting researcher at the
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute of Troy, New York, in 1999. Since 1983, she has been with the
Department of Electrical and Information Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Bari , Italy
where she is currently a Full Professor of system and control engineering and Chair of the
Laboratory of Automation and Control.
Maria Pia Fanti shared her opinions & discussed some upcoming projects in the field of
Automation and presented how automation science has the potential to enhance the
performance of logistic and manufacturing systems with the participants.
