The Department of Electrical Engineering, G H Patel College of Engineering & Technology (GCET), Vallabh Vidyanagar has organized 1st Alumni meet of Electrical Engineering Department, namely ILLUMINE-2020 on 5th January 2020 at 10:30 AM in Smt. Kamlaben Shankarbhai Patel, GCET auditorium. Dr. S G Patel, Honorary Secretary, Charutar Vidya Mandal (CVM) has presided the function. Dr. Himanshu Soni, principal, Dr. Vijay Makwana, Head-EE, Dr. Ritesh Patel and Prof. Chintan Patel, Conveners of the event, all faculty and staff members of the department were present. Following is the schedule of the event. 49 alumni of various batches attended the meet. The objective of the alumni meet was to strengthen the bond of alumni with alma mater and encourage them to contribute in the development of the department and institute. The contribution may be in the form sharing their expertise with students, help arranging industrial visits-internships, recruitment process, etc. During the open house many alumni provided suggestions which can be incorporated in designing new syllabus. Parikshit Jajal (02EE) recommended focusing more on industry-institute interface more practical exposure during study. Umesh Charola (02EE) suggested to include junior students in the project groups of final year students so that they can have idea about project work at an early stage. Himanshu Sharma (07EE) suggested emphasizing more on areas like PLC and automation to make students highly employable. Shyamal Patel (09EE) suggested improving presentation skills of the students. All the alumni agreed to extend their support in all possible manners from their side. After completion of open discussion to get the inputs from all the alumni present, feedback in the form of quaternary to strengthen the department was recorded. The program was concluded with a cultural program and cherishing memories of all alumni.
