Wowkshop on Alibaba Cloud Campus

       

Information Technology Department of G H Patel College of Engineering and Technology (GCET), a Charutar Vidya Mandal Institute, Vallabh Vidyanagar, organized a Workshop on “Alibaba Cloud Campus”, which was coordinated by Prof. Jay Vala on 19th March, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The event was conducted by two experts namely, Mr.Prabhjot Singh Bakshi, Director at Getwings Technologies Pvt. Ltd. and Mr.Romil Bheda, CTO at Getwings Technologies Pvt. Ltd. The event was specially organized for the interested students of Third and Fourth year of Information Technology Department. Total 44 students participated in the workshop.

Main focus of the workshop was to provide practical knowledge about Cloud Computing and using Alibaba Cloud services. Alibaba Cloud offers cloud services. Services are available on a pay-as-you-go basis and include data storage, relational databases, big-data processing, Anti-DDoS protection and content delivery networks (CDN). Outside of the status as the largest cloud computing company in China, Alibaba Cloud operates in 19 data center regions and 56 availability zones around the globe. As of June 2017, Alibaba Cloud is placed in the Visionaries' quadrant of Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Cloud Infrastructure as a Service, Worldwide.

The First session consisted of registration to the Alibaba Cloud service. We also came to know about the market value of Alibaba and all the factors which decide the market face of the industry. Throughout the session we compared various cloud services and there certification exams which could open various job opportunities for us. In the Second session, which was the last session, the experts took some practical sessions and explained the services provided by Alibaba Cloud. Due to lack of time and so many services yet to be discovered, a series of webinar was promised by the experts. Overall, the event was a grand success. The efforts made by the experts were clearly reflected on the faces of the students. A wave of awareness as well as enthusiasm regarding the topics covered was seen among the students. The response of the participants was tremendous and so their enthusiasm till the last session.
