Information Technology Department of G H Patel College of Engineering and Technology (GCET), a Charutar Vidya Mandal Institute, Vallabh Vidyanagar, organized an Expert Talk on “IOT Project and How to develop it”, which was coordinated by Prof. Jaymit Pandya on 3rd July, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 05:30 PM. The event was conducted by expert namely, Prof. Kanu Patel, Assistant Professor at Birla Vishwakarma Mahavidyalaya Enigneering College, Vallabh Vidhyanagar. The event was specially organized for the interested students of Second year of Information Technology Department. Total 35 students participated in the expert talk. Main focus of the workshop was to provide practical knowledge about Internet of Things. Internet of Things is the extension of Internet connectivity into physical devices and everyday objects. Embedded with electronics, Internet connectivity, and other forms of hardware, these devices can communicate and interact with others over the Internet, and they can be remotely monitored and controlled. It is the heart of many of the recent huge developments in the field related ML. Learning interest in these fields have grown rapidly over the years. Learning about all these will help to students to have idea about technologies in vogue.
In the session students got familiar with Internet of Things. The main focus of this session was to provide idea about how to think for developing IOT problem and derive solutions for them. Mainly session was targeted toward developing application in domain, so that students can get idea about small projects which can be developed as a part of Design Engineering subject. Prof. Kanu Patel discussed many such small applications and projects including some big areas like Consumer applications, Commercial applications, Industrial applications, Infrastructure applications. He also discussed current trend in IOT, in which researcher works with IOT data using Machine Learning. Students had also worked on some problems and had doubts regarding it. It was also discussed by expert. Overall, the event was a grand success. The efforts made by the experts were clearly reflected on the faces of the students. A wave of awareness as well as enthusiasm regarding the topics covered was seen among the students. The response of the participants was tremendous and their enthusiasm last till end of session.
