Information Technology Department of G H Patel College of Engineering and Technology (GCET), a Charutar Vidya Mandal institute, Vallabh Vidyanagar, organized an expert talk on “Exploring Microsoft based Technologies”, which was coordinated by Dr. Nikhil Gondaliya Professor & Head and Prof. Deven A. Gol, Assistant Professor, IT department at GCET on 21st February 2019 from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm at A-323 under TechknowTalk Club. This expert talk was specially organized for the second year and third year students of IT department for understanding basic concepts of .Net based technologies and its applications. There were 39 students present for the talk.

Main objective of this event was to make students of 2nd year and 3rd familiar with concepts of .Net Technology and its some popular methods, tools and applications. The speaker started the talk with the basic concepts of .Net framework and its different versions. He explained about the highlight of .NET Core 3 support for Windows desktop applications, specifically Windows Forms, Windows Presentation Framework (WPF), and UWP XAML. He also explained about Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) a framework for building service-oriented applications and using WCF, can send data as asynchronous messages from one service endpoint to another. In this session students developed a brief understanding of Microsoft based Technologies and also got to know about the job opportunities present in this field. He explained how to apply all this technologies by taking some real life examples, problems and its solutions.
