In the proposed project the kraft black liquor obtained from the digestion of Prosopis juliflora hard wood, having concentration of around 12-15%, will be concentrated in an ultrafiltration (UF) process combined with a suitable prior treatment. The reject stream from UF, which is expected to have higher concentration will be fed to a double effect evaporator for further concentration up to more than 50%, and finally to a spray drier. The permeate stream from the UF containing much of alkalies and other soluble pulping chemicals will be reused for pulping. The scheme is expected to reduce the load on the evaporator with less overall energy consumption. It also leads to a zero liquid discharge plant. The ligosulphonate powdery solid obtained after spray drying has the potential to be used as filler in the ceramic, concrete, rubber manufacturing as well as carrier in pesticides making.Read More All Projects
