Mr. Dhanvin Yajnik received certificate of appreciation from NPTEL for being 'Motivated Learner'

Mr. Dhanvin Yajnik, studying in VIIIth semester, Mechanical engineering, has received a certificate of appreciation for being recognised as "NPTEL MOTIVATED LEARNER" from National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL). Such certificate is issued to students who have met various criteria like, who have appeared in at least 8 nos. of exams in 4 semesters, passed in 75% of courses appeared and at least one exam in each of the 4 semesters. Total 135 nos. of persons have obtained such certificate at national level, out of which 40 are students and rest are either professors / professionals, only two students from Gujarat state have received this certificate.

Mr. Neel Patel, Mr. Jeet Chaliawala, and Mr. Aryan Macwan; students of third-year Mechanical Engineering Department have received an SSIP grant of 1.46 lakhs from GTU for their innovation “Krishimani: An Automated Multifunctional Seed Sower”. Krishimani is an environmentally friendly sower as it runs on rechargeable batteries which causes no pollution and harm to nature. The Whole GCET family feels proud and wishes the best for the successful completion of Krishimani.

PRANAV PATEL SECURED THE FIRST RUNNER-UP POSITION IN INTERNATIONAL ROBOCON , INDIA

Mr. Pranav Patel (170113119017), student of final year mechanical engineering department along with his team of Gujarat Technological University has bagged the first runner-up prize in judges category award at ABU ROBOCON FESTIVAL, organized by Asian pacific union broadcast, virtually held at Tokyo. Students of more than eleven countries like China, Japan, Taiwan, and Indonesia have participated in this competition. In a robot rugby competition, the team has scored 4 goals in 70 seconds.

RECEIVED CERTIFICATES AND A SPECIAL CASH PRIZE OF RS. 2,50,000/- IN THE ROBOFEST-GUJARAT 1.0 COMPETITION IN CATEGORY VI.

Students of Mechatronics Department 1) Jeet Patel, 2) Kavit Gajjar, 3) Akshay Ahir, 4) Shubham Sharma and 5) Kaushal Cholera under the guidance of Prof. Bhavik Ardeshana, has received a grant of Rs. 2,50,000/- from GUJCOST, Gujarat for making a “ROVER ROBOT” in ROBOFEST - 2019 competition. GCET Team has been selected as the joint winner in the ROBOFEST-GUJARAT 1.0 Competition in Category VI. Team has received Certificates and a special cash prize of Rs. 2,50,000/- on 29th October 2020, out of 135 teams participated form various institutes in competition. The prototype has been selected for display at the upcoming ROBOTIC Gallery at Gujarat Science City. Function of Rover Robot are Eight Wheeled Rover with a GPS guided system and auto memory path with additional features including 3-FPV Camera Streaming, Rocker Bogie Mechanism, Variable Base Height, Pick & Place Mechanism, 90°/45° Wheel Rotation, Lights for Night Drive and to control all these a portable Ground Station is prepared by using we can control robot form anywhere.

Yash Patel, Kalp Upadhyay And Hinal Vachhani of Final Year Chemical Engineering received best paper award for "Developing Hydrophobic - Oleophilic absorbent material by synthesizing composites of Ceiba pentandra (Kapok) for Oil Spill Clean-u" during SCHEMCON 2020 held on 9-10, 2020 organized by IIChE headquarters through virtual mode and secured first position.

MITESH MARU SECOND YEAR MECHANICAL ENGINEERING STUDENT FETCHED SSIP GRANT FOR INNOVATIVE PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

Mr. Mitesh Maru (190110119036), Student of the Second year, Mechanical Engineering Department has received an SSIP grant of 20,000 INR for his innovative proposed work on “Automatic Touchless Urinal Flushing System” by GTU Innovation Council. The success of this project will help to fight the pandemic situation more bravely. He has already filed an Indian patent for this concept. We appreciate him for this innovative work and wish him all the luck for success.

Mr Chirag Kanagiyani, Final year pass out student of the Mechanical Engineering Department has published a book entitled “The Indian patent Guide", ISBN: 979-8-6848-7781-0. The book describes law Governing prosecution of the patents in India, constituting essential details relating to stages of a patent from the preparation of the draft, to the registration of the application, assessment of the application, award, and maintenance; in the view of current administrative law of patent in India.

L & T's Build India Scholarship

Civil Engineering student Mihir Thacker (2016-20 batch) received L&T's Build India Scholarship which will provide sponsorship to M.Tech. in Construction Technology Management at NIT Surathkal and subsequent employment at L&T as Senior Engineer (O-1) cadre. The Course fee will be borne entirely by L&T and stipend of ₹ 13,400/- during the program will be given.

Dr. Kaushik Nath was conferred with Tech-Guru Award 2020 (Best teacher award) in the Engineering category of the Gujarat Technological University.

Yash Shah student of Department of Computer Engineering won the hackthon Money Legos – A global online Defi Hackathon by Devfolio. It was Digital Economy International Olympaid. He won 250$ prize money. His project title was “GASELESS UNISWAP” based on block chain technology.
