The National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) is a project funded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, and executed jointly by seven Indian Institutes of Technology and the Indian Institute of Science. NPTEL has been offering self-study courses across engineering, humanities and science streams for more than a decade. From March 2014, NPTEL has been offering online certification for its courses through which the student gets an opportunity to earn a certificate from the IITs! 

To encourage more students to participate in this initiative and with a thought of augmenting the studies of University Curriculum with Online Certification Courses from premier institutes such as IIT’s and IISc, we have established SWAYAM-NPTEL Local Chapter at GCET in October 2016. Dr. Mukeh M Bhesaniya, Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering is nominated as Single Point of Contact (SPOC) of SWAYAM-NPTEL GCET Chapter.
