Code Fever 1.0

       

Over recent years, with the advancement in related technologies, we have observed that the problems which engineers facing in industry is becoming more and more critical to solve. There is a requirement of great problem solvers in industry to solve some critical problems which are impactful to mass of people. Competitive programing provides platform to improve skills in problem solving in most efficient way.

With the objective of awakening students about this side of technology, “Code Fever 1.0” was organized by Department of Information Technology, G H Patel College of Engineering and Technology, Vallabh Vidyanagar on 11th & 12th September, 2018. A total of 118 student participants from 10 different degree and diploma engineering institutes of the state have registered for this event. Prof. Nirav Raja, Prof. Jaymit Pandya and Prof. Jay Vala were the faculty coordinators, while Rutvik Shah and Nirmal Patel were student coordinators for the event.

Inaugural function was held on 11th September, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Smt. Kamlaben Sankarbhai GCET Seminar Room. Mr. Hardik Dubal, Founder & Director Timeloop, was the chief guest for the function. The inaugural ceremony was also graced by Dr. Himanshu B. Soni, Principal, GCET and by Dr. Nikhil Gondaliya, HOD, IT Department. Inaugural was started with a prayer. After which, introduction and felicitation was done for chief guest and for other dignitaries on the dais. After which Dr. Himanshu Soni gave the introduction of GCET to all participants. He also highlighted the need of good programming skills and also highlighted the meaning of Fever in “Code Fever” as a zeal to solve problems. Followed by that, Dr. Nikhil Gondaliya provided the information about IT department.

Next, Mr. Hardik Dubal has addressed the gathering. He discussed about the advancement in technology during the last few decades in particularly Game development field and also discussed how Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality is going to become future of Game development field. He also gave brief overview of his 10+ years of experience in World’s largest game development company Gameloft Pvt. Ltd and India’s one of the biggest game development company Gameshastra. The ceremony was concluded by a vote of thanks by Student Coordinators Nirmal Patel and Rutvik Shah which was followed by national anthem and Group photo session. Objective of the coding competition was to encourage participants to get evolved in competitive coding world.
