REUNION 2019- 4th Chemical Engineering Alumni Meet, on 19th January 2019.

        The Department of Chemical Engineering, G H Patel College of Engineering & Technology (GCET), Vallabh Vidyanagar has organised 4th Chemical Engineering Alumni meet called REUNION 2019 on 19th January 2019 at 4.00 p.m. in Smt. Kamlaben Shankarbhai Patel, GCET auditorium. Dr. S G Patel, Honorary Secretary, Charutar Vidya Mandal (CVM) has presided the function and Dr. L F Rabari, Founder Head of Chemical Engineering Department; GCET was invited as the chief guest in the function. Dr. Kaushik Nath, Head Departmebnt of Chemical Engineering, GCET along with Senior faculty members Dr. M S Bhakhar, Dr. R R Nagarajan, Dr. Tejal M Patel and coordinators of the REUNION 2019 Prof. Haresh K Dave & Prof. Vinay B Patel were present. More than 70 alumni of total 19 Chemical Engineering graduated batches starting from year 2000 to 2018 have come to participate in the programme across the India. A Souvenir and Alumni Directory containing the profile of around 40 alumni and the current contact details of more than 600 alumni was released during the function which is the 2nd issue of REMINISCE. The 4th Chemical Engineering alumni gathering has been organised with following major objectives. The aim of this alumni gathering was to have the strong alumni-institute network for the future development of the department and college in terms of industry participation, campus recruitment and professional help. This professional helps may includes the donation of the books to our library, providing the scholarship to the needy students, laboratory development or giving the complementary support for organizing the workshops, conferences and seminars. Ensuring and facilitating the continual bonding of alumni is also one of the major objectives of this get together. The alumni meet will also help the alumni for their social and professional networking purposes: to locate classmates, to share information about each other, to share nostalgic memories, to pursue hobbies and to provide social and professional assistance to one another. An open house discussion session was also held during programme. Few of the senior and junior Alumni have shared their views on the different topics. Mr. Pankit Patel & Mr. Manish Nakarani, Alumnus 2000, the first graduating batch of chemical department has shared his views on the topic “Possibilities of Alumni support and their vision for the institute”. Mr. Ramesh Patel, Alumnus 2003 has shared his views on “Institute and industry interaction for department development”. Mr. Vishal Vaidya, Alumnus 2005, has presented his feeling related to this alumni meet. Mr. Srijeet Ray & Mr. Deepen Shukla, Alumnus 2009 and Mr. Indraneel Mukharji & Mr. Ayan Karmakar, Alumnus 2010, have also given their views and thought on “scenario of chemical industry in the present world”. The programme was finished with group photo and cultural evening followed by dinner.
