In the revered memory of Dr. C V Raman,to celebrate National Science Day (February 28, 2016), GCET Astronomy Club organized an educational tour to Open House of PRL, Ahmedabad on February 29, 2016. Around 45 participating students were GAC members and other students of various branches. Dr. Foram M Joshi, Dr Smita B Joshi anf Prof Mukesh T Joshi from Applied Science and Humanities Department were the faculty coordinators of the visit. Mr. Jaydatt Pandya (2nd year CP) was the student coordinator.Our students had a life time experience for the visit of such an esteemed institution which had been pioneer of space technology in India. Founded by great scientist and visionary Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, PRL had been a cradle to renowned institutes like ISRO and IPR. With this introductory remark by PRL academic head Dr. Vaishnav, our students started their visit.Students visited various stall sat PRL and gained the knowledge about numerous areas of applied science and technology. The open house had an aim to provide insight knowledge of science on various topics like Astronomy, Astrophysics, Geoscience, Particle Physics, Theoretical Physics, etc. There was live demonstration of various experiments, poster presentation and video presentation on the topics mentioned ago. It was very informative for all the students they could nderstand the applied topics of science very easily.With an enlightening tour of PRL students returned to the college with a spark and inspiration towards the new horizons wide field of science and technology.
