IAS/PES Joint Chapter, IEEE GCET SB in collaboration with AS&H Department celebrated “PES Day” on 17th April,2018 . In April 2008, the Power Engineering Society changed its name to the Power and Energy Society. So 1st Global PES Day celebrates 10 years of PES name's glory. Our purpose was to enlighten the students about the concept of Solar Energy. The students were made aware about the topic by pinpointing the Importance of Renewable Energy. The guest of honor for the session was Dr. Gaurav Mishra. He has completed his graduation from BITS Pilani and Ph.D. from KYOTO University, Japan. He is the former director of SAIP Energy and Former Head of research development at SAR group, he is currently the director of Sardar Patel Renewable Energy Research Institute(SPRERI), Anand. Celebration was also followed by Project Exhibition and Benefits of PES for students.
