REUNION 2016-3rd Chemical Engineering Alumni Meet

        The Department of Chemical Engineering of G H Patel College of Engineering & Technology (GCET) has organised 3rd Chemical Engineering Alumni meet called REUNION 2016 on 24th September 2016 at 4.00 pm in Smt. Kamlaben Shankarbhai Patel, GCET auditorium. Dr. S G Patel Honorary Secretary, Charutar Vidya Mandal was president and Dr. L F Rabari, Former Head of Department of Chemical Engineering, GCET was invited as chief guest in the function. Dr. Himanshu Soni, Principal GCET, Dr. Kaushik Nath, Head Departmebnt of Chemical Engineering, GCET and coordinators of REUNION 2016 Mr. Haresh K Dave & Mr. Vinay B Patel were present. More than 100 alumni of total 17 graduated batches from Chemical Engineering have come to participate in the programme across the India. Current details of more than 400 alumni in the form of Souvenir & Alumni Directory named REMINISCE was released in the event. The programme has been organised with following major objectives. The main objective of this function is interaction amongst the Alumni, faculty and present students in order to elevate college as well as department at different level and also helps to follow Alumni through various initiatives like industry participation, campus recruitment and professional help. Ensuring and facilitating the continual bonding of alumni is also one of the major objectives of get together. The alumni meet will help the alumni for social and professional networking purposes: to locate classmates, to share information about each other, to share nostalgic memories, to pursue hobbies, and to provide social and professional assistance to one another. An open house discussion session was also held during programme. Few of the Alumni have shared their views on following topics. Mr. Ravi Jankar, Alumnus 2000, First graduating batch of department has shared his views on the topic “exploring the possibilities of Alumni support to the institute”. Mr. Hardik Valera, Alumnus 2001 has shared his views on “present scenario of chemical engineering ubnder global & Indian perspective”. Mr. Pritam Singh, Alumnus 2002 has given talk on “overall scenario of chemical engineering in the world”. Mr. Amit Chaudhari, Alumnus 2008 has presented his views on “How to bridge the gap between industry and institute”. The programme was finished with group photo and cultural evening followed by dinner.
