One Day Industrial/Educational Visit to "Railway Staff College", at Vadodara

       

Department of Civil Engineering, GCET had organized One Day Industrial/Educational Visit to "Railway Staff College", at Vadodara dated on 1st July, 2017. 44 students and 4 faculty members had visited the Model room of Railway Staff College.

About Railway Staff College:

The National Academy of Indian Railways (NAIR), Vadodara formerly Railway Staff College is a Centralised Training Institute for Group A and B Officers of Indian Railways (IR), headed by a Director General and manned by a faculty of experienced Railway Managers and Experts. Starting with the initial training of Officers Trainees inducted into all the 10 organised Group A Central Civil , Engineering and Medical Services that form the Management Cadre of Indian Railways , the Academy also conducts, mid-service mandatory or theme based in service Management Courses for all Officers of IR and courses for Officers of other Group A Central Services, Public Sector and Foreign Railways. The Academy is housed in the sprawling 55 acres campus of the Pratap Vilas Palace at Lalbaug, Vadodara.

Aim of Visit:

The main aim of visit is to make students aware about the practical consideration of the Railway and to show the components of the railway and how it actually works. The students and faculty had gain a wide knowledge of the railway History, its working and the latest technology in railway signaling. In the model room at Railway staff College, there were working models of Railway Track, Railway signaling, Automated Railway Signal of Mumbai Local Train Network, Signs, and many more which makes the understanding more effective than the theory knowledge.
