National Science Day Celebration at GCET

       

The Department of Chemical Engineering, G H Patel College of Engineering & Technology Vallabh Vidyangar along with Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE) Students' Chapter, GCET, organized National Science Day Celebration on Science & Technology for Specially Abled Persons to commemorate the discovery of Raman Effect by the great Indian Physicist and Nobel Laureate Sir C. V. Raman on 28th February, 1928. In line with the theme of this year, all interested students from all the disciplines and levels were invited to join us in this benign endeavor of celebrating the bravery and courage of the extraordinary human beings.

The Program was started in the morning with the display of poster on the theme of the NSD 2017 and the advances on Science & Technology in ancient, medieval and contemporary India. Inaugural Ceremony commenced with the Floral welcome and introduction of the various guest invited for the talk on recent topic senerio in the world. Dr. Kaushik Nath, Head of th Chemical Engineering Department, welcomed all the invited speakers and highlighted the importance of the topic and its social relevance Dr. Himanshu Soni, Principal, GCET in his presidential remarks highlighted the importance of the day and congratulated IIChE team, GCET and Chemical Engineering Department for taking the Initiative towards the welfare of the people and the society. Eminent speakers of the event include Prof. (Mrs) Pratibha S Puranik, Principal, Mitra Rehabilitation Centre, Mogri, Dr. Parvathi K Iyer, Centre for Studies and Research in Science, Technology and Innovation Policy, School of Social Sciences, Central University of Gujarat, Gandhinagar, Mr. Asutosh Shah, Managing Director, G-Tek Corporation, Baroda, Dr. Lopa Dalal, Paediatrician.
