One week STTP on Dynamic Analysis of Mechanism and Machine

One week short time training programme (STTP) on Dynamic Analysis of Mechanism and Machine was organized jointly by Mechanical and Mechatronics departments of G H Patel College of Engineering and Technology, Vallabh Vidyanagar, during 05-09 January, 2015. The STTP had focused on frontier topics related to Machine Dynamics, Condition Monitoring and Signal Processing. The objective of this STTP was to provide the fundamental concepts in dynamic analysis and design that have to be well understood before a dynamic analysis is done on mechanisms using "black-box" software tools. In this STTP experts from various reputed institutes like IIT Indore, IIIT Hyderabad, SGSIT Indore, MSU Baroda, GCET and ADIT were invited for expert talk in various areas of Machine Dynamics. During this STTP experts shared their knowledge on Fundamentals of dynamic model (by Dr. Vinod Patel), Rotor Dynamic (by Dr. Manoj Chouksey), Dynamic of gears (by Dr. Anand Parey), Multibody dynamic (by Dr. Suril Shah), Dynamics of Nano carbon tube (Dr. Anand Joshi), Dynamics of cracked beam (by Dr. Dharmendra Sharma), Signal processing for mechanical engineers (by Dr. Vinod Patel) and Dynamic analysis using FE (by Dr. Dhaval Jani). Along with these expert talks the laboratory sessions related to application of commercial softwares like MATLAB, CREO and ANSYS in dynamic analysis were also conducted. In this STTP twenty four academicians had participated. Faculties from various technical institutes of Gujarat (18), Maharashtra (04), and Madhyapradesh (02) attended this STTP. The interactions and discussion during lectures and lab sessions showed the interest and enthusiasm of the participants. Moreover, the participants also discussed their doubts related to their research work in the field of Machine Dynamics. Thus, the objective of the STTP was served.
