Seminars on Patent Search Methodology and Analysis Report

        Gujarat Technological University has taken very nice initiative to provide awareness about patent search activity for UG students. To guide and motivate the students for the Patent Search Activity, We, at G H Patel College of Engineering and Technology (GCET), Vallabh Vidyanagar have organized number of seminars on Awareness on Patent Search and Analysis Report (PSAR) during September 17-19, 2013 at GCET Seminar Room and Departmental AV Rooms. Duration of the each seminar is around 90 Minutes. We got great response from students. With the total intake of 419 students from 7 different engineering disciplines (i.e. Chemical, Information Technology, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electronics and Communication, Computer Engg., Electrical Engg.), more than 350 students were actively participated and get benefited due to this. Mr. Nirav M. Raja (Assistant Professor, IT Dept.), Prof. Mayank Mahant and Prof. Rahul Goradia (Assistant Professors, EC Dept.) and Prof. Rajesh Tripathy (Assistant Professor, Chemical Dept.) have attended the workshop on Trainer?s training at GTU on 7th September, 2013. Information, they got during this workshop was shared with other faculty members of the institute. Prof. Vijay Makwana (Assistant Professor, CH Dept.) and all above faculty members have organized the session for the students of all 7 departments. Student volunteers from Training and Placement Cell, GCET have provided the necessary support and assisted the faculty members. Following points were discussed during the sessions; 1. Objective, Importance and benefits of Patent Search activity. 2. Information related to various online databases available for patent search. 3. Guidelines about the Patent Search and Analysis Report. 4. Discussion on different 27 questions needs to be answered by students 5. Discussion on (a) Phase 3 submission on GTU Project Portal (b) Related helps available for faculty members and students (i.e. Youtube Videos, Availability of PSAR related material etc.).
