The CSI Student branch at G. H. Patel College of Engineering and Technology (GCET), V.V. Nagar (region III) organized “Web Junkies” which comprised of two lecture series and a Web-Page designing competition, celebrating 54thFoundation day of CSI on 2nd March’ 2019.The event was organized for first, second and third year students of Computer Engineering & Information Technology Department. Ruhul Khatri, Khyati Valera and Yashasvi Parikh were the student coordinators of the event.
The day started with a brief introductory talk on “Bootstrap” by Mr. Pratik Gadhiya, a fourth-year Computer Engineering student at GCET. He also gave a quick demo of his website which won 2nd Prize in Hasura Hackathon. It was followed by a talk on “React JS” by Mr. Varshit Shah who is also a fourth-year Computer Engineering student at GCET. Also, Dr.Maulika S. Patel addressed the students about the importance of being an active member in any committee and also thanked the speakers for sharing their knowledge with the audience.The next part of the event was Web Junkies, A web Page designing Competition where students were free to use any tools of their choice. Students participated in a team of two. Pratik Gadhiya and Varshit Shah helped the participants make their web page better and more interactive throughout the 2 hours competition. The competition was judged by Prof. Chhaya Zala (Computer Department) and Prof. Deven Gol (Information Technology Department).
