Make a-PC

        Everyone uses a PC in their day to day lives but no one is familiar with all that it takes to assemble a PC. Moreover, there are various other controls and commands in a computer that many people are yet unaware of. So, as an attempt to provide knowledge and get people acquainted with the insides of a PC and its internal functioning, the Department of Information Technology, in collaboration with IEEE GCET SB organised a workshop: "MAKE -A PC"on 17th of October 2015.It was guided by an Assistant Professor of IT Department, Tejal Patel. The workshop consisted of three sessions: DATA RECOVERY AND SOFTWARE CRACKING : The workshop commenced with an expert lecture by Mr. Nirav Patel, who is an Online Vulnerabilities and Malware Analysis Researcher atAhmedabad. H e provided a deep insight on how lost data be recovered with the help of coding and a few other software.He also demonstrated how anyone can crack some licensed software with ease.The lecture incorporated a serious topic inan interactive environment,ensuring an interesting and well informed talk. 2. BASICS OF KALI LINUX : After a short break, the workshop resumedwith a lecture by another expert, Mr.Khushank Gohil, who is a Researcher and EC Council (CEH andCHFI) Member. He delivered on the basics of Kali Linux and some installation basics for the same. The session was highly interactive and interestingas the maximum audience consisted of IT and Computer Department. 3. LIVE DEMO OF PC ASSEMBLING : The final session was the one most awaited by the attendees. It was conducted by Chintan Raithatha and Henil Collerwala , who are 2nd and 3rd year students respectively studying in IT Dept. of GCET itself. The live demo was remarkably handled and perfectly executed by the duo. The event was full of students eager to interact and who had a lot of bizarre queries which sometimes left the speakers bemused. The general review of the event was a positive one where the session seemed to be appealing and helpful for the students in one way or another.
