23rd Annual Day of GCET

       

G H Patel College of Engineering & Technology, a Charutar Vidya Mandal Institute celebrated its 23rd Annual day on 5th April, 2019 with the usual spirit of enthusiasm and zeal. All the academic achievers and the students who have excelled in various co-curricular, extra-curricular, cultural and sports events at state as well as national level during the last academic year were felicitated with certificates. Mr. B. K. Basu, Vice President & Head – Corporate Centre & Technology of L&T Power, was the chief guest of the 23rd Annual Day of GCET. Mr. Suresh J. Patel, Executive Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer, Managing Director of Bodal Chemicals Ltd., was the guest of Honor of this event. Many office bearers and council members of CVM, professors from other institutes and many distinguished guests were present in the event.

The programme began with the prayer presented by the cultural team of Dr. Yogesh Chauhan. Subsequently, Dr. Vijay Makwana, Convener of the Annual Day, welcomed the guests and introduced the dignitaries. Dr. Himanshu B Soni Principal, GCET, presented the annual report of the college and highlighted several salient achievements of the college during last academic year. He reported a number of achievements of the college in terms of grants and research projects, campus placements, university results and industry-institute interface. As per the TIMES ENGINEERING institute Ranking Survey 2018 GCET’s all India rank is 79th amongst top 150 Engineering Institute in India. In the last academic year campus placement figure reached 322 and in the current year it has already reached 301 till 5th April, 2019.

Mr. B. K. Basu, the chief guest of the Annual Day was amazed by the performance of students in academics as well as in co-curricular and extracurricular activities, sports, etc. Also, he congratulated all students for their great achievements. Further, he praised the management Charutar Vidya Mandal for maintaining great strength of faculties as GCET has about 40% PhD holder faculties. He emphasized on team work which is the most important to accomplish any task.

Mr. Suresh Patel, Guest of Honor of this program, informed students to acquire the maximum knowledge by classroom teaching. Also, he said in his speech that 21st century is the knowledge century and in last few decades our country has made a very remarkable development. Moreover, he mentioned that the escalation of opportunity is very large in the near future for a skilled engineer. Hence, he emphasized to get higher education by hard work for the bright carrier of students.

Er. Shri Bhikhubhai B. Patel, Chairman of Charutar Vidya Mandal and the President of the Annual Day, informed to the students that GCET college alumni have progressed in various industrial fields. While addressing to the students, he said that how lucky they are as they got admission in such a famous college. Further, he said that the students have a great opportunity not only to develop their technical knowledge but also to excel in the other fields such as sports and extra-curricular activities in this college. He has congratulated the meritorious students for excelling in all such fields. GCET VOICE – 2019, the annual magazine of the college, was also released during the event by the dignitaries on the dais. Finally, the event got finished with the National Anthem. As a part of the annual day, the students presented excellent dance and music programs for two days; where they performed western and traditional dance, vocal, skits, mime shows and other entertaining programmes.
